I am not sold on the ember as being a valuable asset to my coffee drinking. I had never taken the temperature of my coffee before, but now I have learned that I like my coffee Hot around 150 degrees and the max temperature for the ember is 145 which I feel is luke-warm. the heating element does not take affect until the temp gets below 145. therefore my coffee actually cools down faster in this ember mug than in a Yeti mug which actually has an affordable lid AND insulation and costs 1/4th as much! Unless Ember can increase the temperature to 150 degrees and and provide insulation and a Lid, this is a fun toy at best,

Don't get me wrong, when my girlfriend gifted me this Ember mug I quickly went from skeptical to hooked. Having a perfectly hot sip every drop of the way down became something I craved. But then, it stopped working. I had it replaced. And then it stopped working again. And then, customer support just stopped responding to me.
For this price, it shouldn't be a disposable mug. Maybe they've figured it out with the newer models? Maybe not. But I guess those of us who got in early are screwed.

Read reviews on app reviews--1.7 stars. That should tell you not to waste you money. I doesn't work or at best works intermittently. Read the warranty. That will also tell you not to waste your money. The 1-year "warranty" doesn't include software, so when the mug doesn't heat because the app fails constantly, that's a software problem so you have no remedy.
I wrote a review on Ember's site but they didn't post it I assume because it was negative (not surprising--their site shows 5 stars with all reviews being 5 except one with 4 stars--, but also not ethical if I'm right). I saw other reviews said the app is crap, but hoped it would be corrected by the time of my purchase. I keep having to re-download it, including the latest what they said would fix what they knew was a problem. It's no better. My mug is stuck on a low temp and the app won't change it on those occasions when I can get it to pair at all. It often can't find the mug even when right next to it. Even when I turn it off and back on. Then, the only way to get it to work is to re-pair the mug--a pain in any event, but you won't know you need to until it is full of hot beverage. I have a late version Samsung Note, so there should be no problem there (and I don't have any similar problem with any other app or bluetooth device). By the way, when it doesn't pair and a notice pops up to click to go to trouble shooting, it takes you to a general page where you can search articles--it's not what I'd call a trouble shooting page--totally unhelpful.

Faulty Product - Less than 1 month of use and the charger failed.

Bitter sweet experience. I like the mug, it has a good feel and reliable operation.
A huge issue with me was the fact that I had to register and provide personal information to use the mug and it’s app. The excuse Ember gave for requiring personal information was BS.
I purchased the first iteration of the mug, which while functional, was a very poor design in that the capacity allowed for absolutely no additional accoutrements to the mug. A design flaw that was quickly observed by most users. Ember responded to this by developing a larger capacity. I purchased the upgraded model only to realize that a few months later that model was improved yet again with a longer heating capacity. This after I just upgraded with an additional purchase of $130.
I have never been able to make a phone call to Ember. They go out of their way to avoid any direct human assistance with their product.
I like the mug but have a bitter taste about the company due to the aforementioned items. I would have purchased the Ember mugs as gifts if I had a better feeling about the company.

Mostly, I like the mug, however, the temperature is not as hot as I would like it to be. It is a little more than lukewarm at the highest temperature 144 degree. I think, most of the coffee drinkers like their coffee piping hot. I think, it could be at least 20 degrees warmer.

I was very pleased with this coffee mug the software worked great iPhone XR OS 13.1 it held the temperature (125F) for a minimum of 70min I’m a slow coffee drinker I did return it because 10 ounces was not large enough to hold coffee and creamer and ordered 14oz

The idea of the cup is nice and it is nice.........when it works!
It stopped working and the lights were flashing crazy. I contacted Ember, no help. I sent the product back to Amazon and I've not been refunded and now says I'm out of time to return.
I wouldn't have another one of these. The quality of the cups are substandard and poor support.
Have had it for 4 months, used it every day, the charger is already broken. The charging device has 2 small and then metal pins that are exposed, and that charges the mug. Suddenly one of them just fell into the charging mug, now it doesn’t charge reliably. Garbage for what I payed for it.
Very expensive & arrived with a Chinese plug so had to buy an adapter - not impressed. Mug itself can only retain heat at 60 degrees. This was a gift, would not recommend.
