Excellent movie, but take care showing it to sensitive little kids

We love this movie and showed it to our kids - ages 8 and 6 - when they became interested in the Toy Story trilogy. However, watching it with them we realized how extremely intense it really is with the psychological horror of being trapped in the daycare. Both kids were pretty scared and I had to keep reassuring my son that it would end happily, especially because they had become so attached to the characters from the previous two movies. So just make sure if your kids are sensitive that you make sure they're up to it. (I have to admit I cry every time at the scene where they are about to be incinerated and they look at each other and clasp hands; as if to say 'we're going to perish but at least we're together'. BAWL.) We also realized while watching this with the kids at how many deep themes there really are, and that ultimately this is really a movie for grownups; they didn't get why the ending is so bittersweet at all. But that's ok. They'll get it one day.

In my mind it was the perfect ending to the franchise and they didn't need to make a fourth one. This is definitely the best Toy Story movie of them all. You will laugh but most of all you will cry. Each movie in the trilogy has its scary momens, this one, however, has the darkest, scariest of them all. It also has the happiest though. You will be crying because of fear and joy. The toys all work together, which teaches the children friendship and teamwork. And Andy is a teenager going to college, which teaches the parents that kids aren't kids forever. It has great lessons for everyone. But be wary for children too young watching this.

I grew up watching Toy Story 1 and 2 but after so many years, I wasn't really excited to learn that they were coming out with a third installment. I didn't have high hopes for this movie. I thought, the first two movies were so great, it's time has passed. I actually only watched this because I was at someone else's house and couldn't get their streaming service working. So I just grabbed one of his dvds which happened to be this movie, and genuinely thought I would be bored to sleep but I was wrong and I'm so happy that I was. This movie was truly wonderful! I absolutely loved the story of the toys being donated and really interacting with a whole new crew. Villians are so important to films for me and this movie did not disappoint. I'm happy that so many of the original voice actors returned, as well as being impressed with the new additions, like Michael Keaton. I was surprised and so very emotional near the end. I will freely admit to many tears falling. I hear that there is another movie in the works and I cannot wait to see it!

Lovable toys. Great voice characterizations. Mostly the same plot: how can the toys stay relevant and loved and avoid various hazards?

Because this story centers on Andy's impending departure for college and because my youngest daughter was watching the movie with me shortly before she leaves for college, I expected more heart-tugging moments and tears from me. Maybe I've given away so many toys that I've toughed up more than I thought, or maybe this movie just didn't quite push all the right buttons to toy with my emotions. Still, enjoyable, more enjoyable than most movies that are in their third film in a series.

My 7 1/2 year old son was in tears after this movie and said that he gives it no stars. This is a dark movie full of meanness, lying, and betrayal, with no redemption at the end, just a fluffy, unsatisfying ending. I wish I'd read more of the reviews before showing this to him. If your child has consumed a lot of media or plays video games, he/she will probably be fine, but we are a low media household, so this movie was way beyond anything our child has seen before. This movie seems like it would be more fun for grown ups to watch, possibly while tripping on acid.

It's very disappointing when you purchase 2 different DVDs in a series and neither of them will play all the way due to scratches. Amazon needs to require that sellers meet certain quality requirements, like sending scans or pics of the product, which Amazon itself would then rate; this would remove the tendency of unscrupulous or untrained sellers from rating CDs or DVDs as anything better than they are. With these scratches, these two DVDs -- both in the Toy Story line -- should have been "Acceptable" at best, instead of the "Very Good" they were reported as. (Which means "Condition," one of the main choices by which buyers choose to make a purchase, should also be a specific rating; that option would likely be easier for Amazon to pull off than creating an Amazon-assisted condition rating method.)

It completes the Toy Story series very well, but there's the same darkness at points in the film that was noticeable in the first two efforts. In Toy Story 3, the villain is once again another toy that was abandoned who has now become a dictator over the toys in a day care center. Pretty intense stuff for younger ones (would say below five...my son picked up on the "bad guy" but didn't quite understand why he was the way he was).

The end of an era (until they decided to make Toy Story 4!). TS3 is simply superb. Pixar have always been at the front of animation and they prove it time and again, and TS3 is no exception.

It is funny and engaging for both kids and adults alike, (really we're all kids when we watch Toy Story). It has everything, thrills, spills, drama, comedy, and tragedy.

Keep an eye out for easter eggs here and there, harping back to the earlier Toy Story films.

This is one of my favourite all time animation films, 10/10
