The jar is somewhat larger and heavier than I'd expected. Intended it for a small console table, it ended up on the kitchen island. The capacity is correspondingly great, quite larger than a cookie jar. You can fit your hand through the mouth, which is useful. Four unobtrusive white rubber feet protect the surface you place it on. The item was very well packaged and arrived safely.
