Hi neighbors! I was just sitting here looking over a list of the Texas Bluebonnet Award books for 2018-19 and wishing it were visual. It’s required reading for our school so I want my daughter to be able to glance over the list and let me know the books she’s interested in reading. I was also wishing Amazon had a page where all the Bluebonnet Books were grouped and I even started wondering WHY! there isn’t a website listing the books with a photo of the cover… and I said to myself, “Erica, you have a website, you can create this visual list you’re wishing for right now!” Ha!
So for all the visual people like me who need a list like this to make life a little easier, here you go! (hover the mouse over each book cover photo below for the price and/or click the photos below to purchase on amazon):
For my twitter minded friends who just want a clickable list, here you go:
- How to Avoid Extinction
- Step Right Up: How Doc and Jim Key Taught the World About Kindness
- Grand Canyon
- Bravo! Poems About Amazing Hispanics
- The Unlucky Lottery Winners of Classroom 13
- Refugee
- Garvey’s Choice
- Keith Haring: The Boy Who Just Kept Drawing
- Slider
- Grandpa’s Hal-La-Loo-Ya Hambone
- Hello, Universe
- Amina’s Voice
- Me and Marvin Gardens
- Chef Roy Choi and the Street Food Remix
- Sergeant Reckless: The True Story of the Little Horse Who Became a Hero
- The Bicycle Spy
- Spirit Hunters
- Wedgie and Gizmo
- The Harlem Charade
- Stef Soto, Taco Queen
And lastly for neighbors who don’t like to judge a book by it’s cover 😉 and want to look at the list in more depth, here’s a blog I found with all sorts of information for each book: Bluebonnet Blog
Good luck getting the kiddos in your life to read what’s required for school. Some have it easy and some have it hard. And pardon the dust on this website, it’s still under construction, this idea for your/our convenience was too good to wait! However, the Shop page for our Favorite Books is open for business. 🙂 -Erica
