Secret Weapon

I have a new secret style weapon. See the dress above? I found it in People Style Watch. Really? Not, Vogue, Harpers or Elle? YES, and the best part was that it was only $129!

While on vacation, I picked up this Style Watch at the airport. I saw the red tweed Benetton dress, and I loved it. I thought to myself that it would be a perfect dress for holiday cocktail parties and Christmas work parties; its so versatile. However, holiday events felt like a long time away, so I just kept flipping the page. Two weeks later I remembered I had a cocktail event and I immediately thought, “where is that magazine”?!?! After about two hours of searching I found it. I was so impressed by the magazine that I’ve started to buy it every time I see it on the stand. It’s become my secret weapon… so much good stuff at reasonable prices!

Sometimes when an outfit has a certain feel to it I like to take it all the way. This dress felt very St. John-ish, so I went along with that look by adding the black hose and black suede pumps. Then, I felt like the outfit needed a little edge, so I added a fun “edgy” necklace. I also love that the dress is tweed but sleeveless, so unexpected.

The only bummer is that we don’t have a Benetton store in Houston, and they’re not online. I called the Willowbend/Plano store and spoke with the nicest sales associate, Michael, who shipped it straight to me. Thanks Michael!
