I absolutely love a comfy maxi skirt and so, on Monday, I was excited to throw one on. However, as soon as I looked in the mirror, I kicked myself after seeing the bumps from my shirt and the lines from my slip (the one I’ve had since high school). As it normally goes in the morning, I didn’t have time to change. So, I just decided to say, “oh well” and wear the maxi skirt anyway. Well, “oh well” turned into “oh no” when I saw these pictures my sister took of me and then again when I saw my S-I-L (after I took off the old slip) and she said, “um, Carl- you can see straight through your skirt”. I immediately went to the bathroom to look and I noticed that you could also see my butt indention (crack). Oh geez, this was a big lesson learned. In the next few pictures the “issues” are really noticeable, and that’s why I started with this one-ha!
So, although maxi’s are super comfy, the issues I experienced are things to be aware of when wearing or purchasing a maxi skirt/dress. But…
I’ve got a solution! My sister told me about this fantastic slip over a year and a half ago and I’ve been meaning to buy it for that long. Well, after this little fiasco, and now that maxi skirt season is here, I am purchasing this slip and Telling it to my Neighbor- ha! My sister posted on the slip today (here).
I love to tuck shirts into maxi’s to give a nice waist line. It also gives your maxi skirt the look of a maxi dress- making the skirt versatile! It’s a different dress with a change of a shirt!
