I’m throwing all vanity out the window in this post. Selfies taken with a cell phone camera are NOT pretty. Try it, you’ll get a good laugh! I wanted to do a “real” post on the much talked about keratin treatments. “Real” meaning real results, not the pictures you see of people who have had this treatment and their hair instantly looks amazing, like Brook Shields! No, this is the real me, the real frizz, the real hair after, with and without a round brush.
I told Robert, my hair stylist, that I wanted the treatment that straightens hair and allows you to no longer have to “do” your hair. Robert, being Robert, (and this is why I love him) quickly replied with a comment that brought me back down to earth. He said, in so many words, that it’s an anti-frizz treatment and that I will still need to style my hair. Wait, what?… Well, do you see the frizz above? I was sold anyway.
This is the very first wash with just a quick blow dry. No round brush used, just my fingers and my regular brush. Well, you know the treatment worked when you find yourself wishing for a little more frizz -ha! It felt like my “pre-baby” hair- my hair before I had a baby and my hormones completely changed my hair.
This is the next wash. I used a round brush and some volumizer at the roots. I did not have to spend a ton of time getting the ends to tuck under. I did not separate by sections, I just used the round brush at the very end for about 2 minutes. Total time spent, 10 minutes. Before the treatment this look would have taken 25 minutes.
This picture is to show that the treatment did not take away my waves, which I was happy about. It did allow the waves to lay a little flatter and be a little more tame. Tame is exactly what I needed. Did you see the first picture? -ha!
I received the GKhair Full Tame-Resistant formula. You all know I love Robert- I think he did a great job! If you’d like to contact him and make an appointment for the treatment, you can call him at K. Renee Salon (713) 622-6444.
Just in case I didn’t get my point across, look at this hysterical selfie- that smile, the awkward angle and the hand. Now quick, go take a picture of yourself in the mirror and get a good laugh.

Okay…so I totally laughed out loud at that last one! I take cell phone selfies for the blog everyday…but there are some tricks to getting good angles. I should hold a workshop! Ha!

Did you purchase the treatment from Robert and do it at home?
Carly Lee (C. Style Blog) says
Robert already had the treatment and did it in the salon. Hope this helps!
