My trendar (aka, trend radar) is going off like crazy! While casually flipping through a style magazine, the trendar started going off so loudly in my head that it inspired a post! It was like red and white lights with the siren noises and all. These pointy black pumps are everywhere! Here’s the good news: the trend is a classic. Ok wait, maybe that makes this a wardrobe staple and essentially not a trend. Oh, but who cares -ha! And, they are being worn with everything, even jeans and a t-shirt! They are versatile, and they will stand the test of time. That’s a double plus for a trend!
What a perfect way to dress up your jeans for an “effortlessly put together” look. Not to mention, they are the perfect shoe for a cocktail dress. There’s something about the pointed toe and how it just covers the toes that makes these shoes so sophisticated. You know when I’ll be wearing these? Anytime I need to be a little dressy.
I have a satin pair of black pumps that I bought many years ago, and I still wear them, but I just purchased a pair of black suede pumps. I like the matte look of suede. I like the way it looks with leather, especially leather leggings. It’s a good juxtaposition. But, I also like the way suede looks with black opaque tights. I wore my black suede wedges all the time last year for these very reasons.
Here are some great options:
Jessica Simpson $78.95, Sam Edelman $129.95
J. Crew $169.99 These are the ones I have, are you surprised? -ha!,
Kate Spade $196.80
If I wanted to splurge…
Manolo Blahnik $695.00 Love the open sides on this pair , Prada $720 Love the metal heel, Monolo Blahnik $595
Just in case you love the trend but can’t wear a high heel.

Any recommendations on the most comfortable black pump? Love the look but can’t stand in them for long.

I’m with Andrea! I have some gorgeous Calvin Klein’s but they are far from comfy!

Carly. I rarely wear heels, like VERY rarely. BUT NOW I FEEL LIKE I NEED A PAIR OF NEW ONES IMMEDIATELY!!!!!! This post makes me want a pair of heels as soon as freaking possible! Well done!

I am no fashion expert, but I have to say that Cole Haan and Nike joined forces to make some fashionably comfortable pumps. As a physical therapist, I know the pointy toes can wreck havoc on our feet, yet I’m even tempted to invest in a good pair if this trend recycles !

I bought the Jessica Simpson ones in Burnt Umber (hook ’em!). They are comfy and make my legs look long a lean (I’m 5″2). I also bought the Sam Edelman’s in black. They are also comfy and classic with a fun trendy spin to it. I told my salesperson at Nordstrom’s in the Galleria that Carly sent me. 🙂
