If you follow me on Instagram then you’ve probably seen this picture of my recent trip to New Orleans. My friend hilariously commented that my husband was like “Where’s Waldo?” at the bottom of the picture -ha! Now, the pictures that follow are not the best quality, but I’m not letting my perfectionist ways get the best of me. I hope you all approve.
If you’ve been following C. Style for awhile, then you know how nuts I am about my airport outfits. I’ve got lots and lots of requirements- easy on/off shoes, shoes that keep my feet warm when they’re up against the air vents at the bottom of the plane, pants that are comfy and don’t show anything when you bend over in the security line, a shirt that is light weight and can be worn with layers… Yup, nuts. When we went out for the night I wore the same thing on top but switched out the bottoms for these, with shoes like this, and added a necklace like this one. Forgot to get a pic, sorry.

I wore this the next day, walking around the streets of New Orleans. My main requirement- comfy shoes that can handle the streets. So, of course, I wore my converse. It was chilly, but not when in the sun, so I wore things I could stash in my big purse when I got too warm.

I really love this dress from Club Monaco and my cousin had the genius idea to put my leather jacket on top (I was texting her, my sister and my aunt from the dressing room with my different dress options. I like to get opinions, too!). I love how the leather jacket gives the dress a little umph, you know? I wore the hose because I didn’t want to be cold, and even though the shoes are open toe, it didn’t bother me. Oh, and I can’t wait to tell you all about my new hair trick. This is second day hair and no curling iron, post to come!

This is about as crazy as The Lees got in New Orleans… man we’re getting old, but I’m kinda ok with it -ha!
This one is just in case you were wondering what my airport outfit was on the way home. Believe it or not, the converse are really easy to get on and off.

I had to take a picture of my husband. I really liked his outfit combination- black and white checked shirt, greyish jeans, black loafers and a navy sport coat. Clearly not a good picture, but I had the thought while we were walking through the airport to do a few posts that cover menswear ideas, are you all interested?
Sarah says
Yes – interested in menswear ideas. My husband needs a little wardrobe update, but I really don’t know how to help him!
Rhonda says
I agree with Sarah! Help me help him!
yoongihee says
love the jacket!!!
Margo says
YES to the menswear! My husband is picky and somewhat stylish and not at all casual. But never takes time to shop. . .
As for airplane clothes, I am very particular about travel clothes in general. I agree with all your points!
Margo says
oh, one more thing: I don’t think black and navy “go” together, but I’m willing to be talked into it because navies are so incredibly hard to match. Did you just decide you liked them together…..? I rely on my eyes a lot instead of rules to see if I like something together. . . help me out here.
Carly Lee (C. Style Blog) says
Margo! You just gave me a great idea for a post, thank you!

You two are so adorable! Love that dress and leather jacket, and a big yes to menswear tips!
Jill Ann says
YES PLEASE to the menswear… I have no idea how to dress my man friend.

I cant’ wait to see the post on how to style the 2nd day hair!

I just ordered my first pair of Converse and wondered…how do you keep them from getting smelly since you don’t wear socks with them?
Carly Lee (C. Style Blog) says
I wear HUE no-show socks with my converse. I hope this helps.
April says
And how do you keep your converse from getting filthy? NOLA streets are pretty nasty. I’ve had a pair of white converse for 3 months and can’t bring myself to wear them bc they will get ruined. They’ll never be white white again. Same with the red. Also, would love a “notify me when follow up comments are posted” option down here.
