Who knew you could find clothes at an Antique Fair?!?! I’ve been to Round Top a number of times and have never seen clothes before, but this time I found some! I may have gotten a little too excited about it… you’ll see what I mean -ha!
If you follow along on Instagram, then you saw this gem I picked up. My friend commented that it was “very RL” (Ralph Lauren). And she was so right, because the designer, Tasha Polizzi, was head of Women’s design at Ralph Lauren for 10 years! Can you see the happiness on my face? I felt like I hit the jackpot! I can’t wait to wear it with my white skinny jeans and wedges. I came to find out that they sell her line at Zappos (here) and she also has a very similar shirt on her website (here).
Next, I found Bess’ vintage Mink. No seriously, Bess’ name is embroidered on the inside of the coat. I went nuts over this coat, as you can see (the middle picture is the moment I discovered that the coat had velvet lined pockets). OK, and don’t get mad at me because it’s a fur coat. The damage had been done, the mink was already made into a coat. I was just giving it a new home -ha!
Up next I found this cashmere mink collar cardigan. I pinned a Banana Republic cardigan this winter that reminded me of this sweater. In fact, they have a very similar one (here). But, what’s cool is that my vintage sweater is cashmere and I actually bought it for less than the price of the BR sweater, score! If you are going to Round Top, both the mink and the cashmere sweater were found in Warrenton, behind the Legal Tender Saloon at a booth called Gypsies Antiques. They can also be found in Austin, TX on Burnett Rd. and at Rarethreadsvintage on Etsy.
The sweater came in handy the next day, because it was freezing outside and I didn’t bring any type of jacket or sweater. I love how this outfit came together. Sometimes when you only have a few things to choose from (what you had packed) it forces you to get creative.

I also found this nail cuff and belt at the Arbors, in the Pure Marfa booth. You can find the cuff online here and the belt here. I love the vintage dress clips on the sweater and the sweet little loops on the cuffs of the sweater.

This is the moment my sister and I decided it would be cool to find an antique mirror I could take selfies in for the blog. Still not sure how this person (me), who has never been fond of taking pictures, ended up taking selfies and posting them on the internet -ha! You’ll see my new mirror on the blog soon.
And this is the moment I decided that I would love to tile an entire bathroom in this blue and white tile some day. Love it and loved staying at Rachel Ashwell’s The Prairie.

oh my GOSH – those furs!!! Never thought I was a fur person til I saw your finds! That fur collar cardi is to die for! I get so much more excited about vintage clothes shopping. New clothes just overwhelm me and I feel much more creative when I’m digging through vintage things. So much of the decision has already been made for me – I might like a shirt but it might be too small (typical when I’m shopping vintage – I’m tall). A skirt might be my size and not very expensive and that will make me stop and consider it when I wouldn’t give it a second look in the mall
