Do heavy sunglasses drive you nuts? Do they leave red marks on your nose and irritate the heck out of you? Especially when it’s hot and you’re sweaty? Well, there is a new style of sunglasses made just for you!
Ray-Ban makes the traditional Wayfarer in a new material called thermoplastic, which allows for a superior lightweight pair of sunglasses. I went to try them on just for you. Well, and for me -ha! I took a picture from the front and the side, so you could get a good look at them. It’s hard to buy sunglasses when you haven’t seen them on someone. But who doesn’t look good in Wayfarers?!?!
So as the story goes (because I have a story for everything you know? -ha!), my friend e-mailed me asking for sunglass recommendations. Then, I ran into her a couple of weeks later, and she had these great glasses on! She told me how lightweight they were, which she said she loved because heavy sunglasses drive her nuts. I held them in my hand and immediately asked if I could blog about them. She said yes! Laura, you’re the best. Thank you!
As you’ve seen, they make them in black, brown and lots of other fun colors! I really like this blue! Look, the sales lady isn’t even wondering what in the world these girls are doing. Well, maybe she is and that’s why her she’s not looking at us -ha!
Here they are in the bigger frame. These have an eye size of 55, while the other Wayfarers have an eye size of 52.
And while I was there I decided to try on a couple of other options for you guys (and for me) -ha! The “flash lenses” are all the rage, as they should be, because everyone looks so cute in them! I had to try them on. They made me feel kinda like a hippie, so I threw up my peace sign -ha! These are the blue flash lenses, and well, maybe my hippie tie dye shirt is telling me something… I can talk myself into a new purchase so fast -ha!
This is the moment I tried on the green “flash lenses” and my sister in law told me I looked like a bug. “Like, no seriously, you really do Carl… You should see them on you” -ha!
I love these because I’m a total sucker for tortoise shell. These have a tortoise shell rim and they look so regal -no?
I had these at one point and wore them all the time, but then I lost them. Seeing these pictures and seeing my friend Kim in them today makes me want another pair. Well, they’re a classic. What’s there not to like? Oh goodness here I go again.
Tip: If you’re trying to decide on sunglasses and you can’t make up your mind, have someone snap a few pictures of you in them. There is something about seeing a picture of yourself in the glasses that makes it easier to decide.
