I had to start with this picture because this pretty much sums up how I felt on my 10 year anniversary trip to Santa Barbara – on top of the world! I felt on top of the world because, well, Santa Barbara, CA is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen! But also because 10 years of marriage is worthy of a grand celebration! As I mentioned in Friday’s post, it’s been, as my friend says, a “brutiful” hike. In fact, it’s a trip I’d like to journal about. So, instead of my usual outfit posts for trips, I thought I’d share a little bit more with you guys.
First off, Santa Barbara has the nicest airport I’ve ever seen. So nice, I was prompted to take a picture of the stairs down to the baggage claim.
On our drive up the road to San Ysidro Ranch (where we stayed), I saw this amazing, huge hedge. I’ve never seen anything like it. By the end of the trip my husband was calling it “Carly’s Hedge”. I’m trying to figure out how to grow a hedge like this in Houston. Probably not possible.
Once we arrived, we checked in at the prettiest cottage with the prettiest grey and white awnings. I loved all the divided light patterned windows throughout the property. And now I want grey and white striped awnings on every door and window of my house -ha!
The pretty putting green across from our cottage.
Then when we got to our cottage, our name was on the door! Whhhhat?!?! How fun is that?!?
Then we headed out the door for dinner. My travel outfit transitioned well for a casual dinner in Santa Barbara.

Before dinner, we took a lovely stroll down by the beach where the moon looked like it was sitting low in the sky. I’ve never seen the moon so bright. We then ate dinner at The Lark, where I had to take a picture of the floor. I couldn’t decide which one I liked more, my new booties or the floor tiles -ha! I’m disappointed that I didn’t capture more of the The Lark. You need to check out their website, because the restaurant was really beautiful.
