I’ve been pretty desperate for warm clothes lately. Houston, for the most part, is either warm or hot, so this cold weather has me searching for ways to keep warm with the few sweaters I have. Although, I did just brake down and buy a few more. I can’t wait to share them with you guys!
You may not even notice, but I’m actually wearing two vests. I wearing my down vest under my army vest. I double vested it. This is why I love my thin Patagonia vest so much, it adds warmth without the bulk. Looooove IT!
When I had this double vest idea, I think I may have started jumping up and down! I was just so excited! I was going to be warmer than I had been in days, and I thought it looked so cute!
I also recently saw someone wear their waterfall cardigan with a fur vest on top- another cute way to layer. You know I’ll be copying that look asap -ha!
Do you have a creative way to layer? I’d love to hear about it, and I’m sure others would too! Leave us your ideas in the comment section!

this post is such a funny contrast to my dressing this time of year in the frozen north! I wear long underwear under my jeans, wool knee socks, and a wool sweater with 1-2 layers underneath. Almost always a scarf. And I am warm and the long underwear is hidden, so it’s good.
My layering trick is to wear two sweaters on top of each other, kind of like your vest idea. I make sure the top layer is a cardi to show off the layers and sometimes the underneath layer is a vest. I almost always wear a small scarf to tie the colors together – not the big ones that are popular right now, but more like a vintage silk one just knotted at my neck.

I was just noticing your vest is the Patagonia NanoPuff vest. The nanopuffs are Prima loft and not down. I have the jacket and love it. It is light and thin yet warm. It is not down though. I purchased it for that very reason since I can be allergic to down. I thought your readers might like to know that if they have the same allergy.

I wear a lot of cardigans or zip-up hoodies as another layer under my vest. Doing it for a pop of color today! And if it’s cool but raining, I’ll wear my vest under my lightweight rain jacket because my vest isn’t waterproof.
