This post is important to me, because my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 47 and lost her battle 6 years later. If you’re not interested in Breast Cancer Awareness products, that’s cool, but make sure you read the last sentence of this post. It’s important!
Naturally, I’m all for Breast Cancer Awareness month and the BCA products that give back. So, when the Elaine Turner brand sent me an e-mail to check out their BCA products I did (black bracelet pictured above)! Whether it’s your mom, like it was for Elaine Turner and me, someone in your family, a close friend’s mother or a next door neighbor, we have all been effected by this disease in some way.

BCA Bracelet- Elaine Turner, Blouse- Club Monaco not available, Jacket- The Limited, Jeans- Citizens of Humanity, Flats- Jeffrey Campbell not available/here and here for similar, Diamond Necklace- Nordstrom for similar, Hoops- Nordstrom, Necklace- Ann Klein, Necklace- Ann Klein, Purse- Linea Pelle
If you have a girlfriend or a mom that has a birthday coming up, why not give them a BCA product? You could even do some early Christmas shopping, because who knew The North Face made their jacket and vest with pink stitching?!?! I just purchased the white RL hat with the pink pony for both my sister and me (long story, but I owe her one for a birthday from a few years back that I never ordered). If you know a bride, the robe from Plum Pretty Sugar is perfect for her wedding day. Heck, I just want it for the mornings! I love the earrings, they remind me of my rehearsal dinner earrings that I have since lost. If you’ve smelled a NEST candle, I don’t need to say anything more. And who doesn’t love a light pink Essie nail polish?!
**IMPORTANT: All this pink stuff is for one reason. TODAY when you take a shower or you take your bra off to get in your pajamas, check your boobs for a lump. All it takes is like 30 seconds. I know, I hate checking my boobs too, but early detection matters and the people that love you really want you around. Trust me, I know.

Thanks for the reminder. I’m sorry about your mom. That’s SO YOUNG!! I lost my mom to Ovarian cancer 20 years ago. I’m still not over it.
I’ll check out the BCA products!

What a great post and a great reminder. So sorry about your mother. I know there really are no words. I think it’s great to raise awareness and support. That hat is perfect – simple but chic!!

Wonderful post Carly! I have one scheduled for next Wednesday too! One of my good friends was diagnosed at 29 and she’s writing a little something for it!

Great post! I agree, its important to do the self exams. I think as women we are always taking care of others, that we forget to take of ourselves. Thanks for the reminder, especially one of such importance.
