I have a few special occasion or “dressy” tops in my closet. I wear them on dates with my husband, to girls nights or church. You know, my “dressy” occasions -ha! When I’m looking for a dressy top, there is one store that never disappoints… Anthropologie! Anthro can be a little on the expensive side, but not to worry because I have a trick (bottom of post)!
When I saw this top at Anthropologie, I loved it and I knew I wanted to add it to the “dressy” top section of my closet. But, before I purchase anything, I have to figure out what I can wear with it from my closet to complete the outfit, or else I won’t buy it. For this top I could think of three outfits! YES!!!
Here, I paired it with white jeans for a girls dinner. I’m using the skin colored camisole trick, post here.

Here, I paired it with my leather leggings for book club. This time we did actually talk about the book, but we drank some wine too -ha! Now, for my third outfit I can’t wait to wear it tucked into my black pencil skirt!

Anthropologie has a sale section called “freshly cut“. Typically, though not always, the price cuts go into effect on Tuesdays. Yay! Today is Tuesday, so check it out here! And, from my research, sometimes a product will even get three cuts! Plus, if you add an item to your “wish list”, they will notify you when it gets a price cut!
Cuts are Mondays…if you stay up real late Sunday night you can see items on sale at midnight (at least in Denver). But at that hour, I believe you can only see items in your wish list that may have received a price cut. I try so hard to wait for fresh cuts…most times I just don’t have the dang will power! I noticed last night that I could find things outside of my wish lists that received cuts. Happy shopping!

Thanks for the tip! Another way to stay informed of sales: salemarked.com. It partners with a limited number of retailers, but those include Anthro and J Crew. You enter what price you’d like to pay for the item, then it sends you an email when the item goes on sale.
