So, you know those e-mail invites where you go straight to the “to:” line to see who else is invited, because you’re wondering if they got the wrong person? That’s how I felt when Ireceiveda luncheon invitation from PaperCity and Saks Fifth Avenue. When a second e-mail came with blogger luncheon in the subject, I knew it wasn’t a mistake -ha! Needless to say, I was in and I was honored! I thought it would be fun to share some pictures from the event last Friday. Above is our menu with our NARS goody bag, love it!
This picture is for all my fellow foodies. These chicken and mushroom crepes were TDF! Do you see the cream sauce? How could they not be delicious!?!?!
Bag-Proenza Schouler, Red Pumps-Brian Atwood
About half way through the lunch they orchestrated a mini fashion show. How fun is that?! I’m sure the models thought I was crazy, standing up to take a picture in the middle of the luncheon and asking them to stop so I could get a better picture. I just couldn’t help myself! I love how they paired the red shoes and bag with this black and white dress. I tried to link as many items as I could find from the fashion show!
Purple Vest-Milly, Silk Top-Milly, Leather Leggings-Milly, Shoes-Giuseppe Zanotti
I related most to this outfit with the leather leggings, silk top, fur vest, and black booties. It seems comfortable and on trend, win-win. I also instantly noticed her booties. At this point I turned to Sylvia, the Marketing Director at Saks, and said, “I love those shoes!!! Who makes them?”. I felt like I was a reporter on the red carpet at the Oscars asking, “What’s she wearing!”-ha!
Leather Jacket-Helmut Lang, Red Skirt-Rag & Bone, Shoes-Giuseppe Zanotti
There the shoes are again, looking great with a skirt.
Leather Jacket-Joie, Red Pumps-Brian Atwood
Here are the red shoes again, paired with a charcoal dress. I guess it was all about the shoes for me -ha!

How cool is this dress with leather on the top and a train in the back?! Is it just me or are those shoes the perfect tone of red?!?!
Then, my table buddy (AKA new friend sitting next to me) pulled out her iPhone and I freaked out over her case! Megan, the Assistant Fashion Editor at PaperCity, happily gave me permission to post it so that I could show it to all of you! I’m totally buying this.
My other table buddies and fellow Houston bloggers were: Layla Asgari at Chic Chef Blog, Lauren Mills at Sunday Beach Blog, Yolanda Washington at Design Roundup and Kathleen Jennings at Book Beauty Now Blog. Clearly this luncheon was a very happy time for me! I was eating good food, meeting new fashion and blogger friends, seeing really great clothes and talking fashion!
Here I am with Kate Stuckenburg, the PaperCity Executive Editor Fashion + Digital. PaperCity is about to ramp up their online presence, which is very exciting. I can’t wait to share what they are up to as soon as details become available.

Carly, Have a question about that Nordstrom hard case for iphone.. How does it compare to the otterbox? Do you think it is equally as protective or not so much?? I am just now getting iphone (a little late, huh 🙂 and would love that stylish case and not the otterbox but have broken many a phone screens already!
