Over the next three days, I plan to share with you a few tips and tricks that will make getting dressed this holiday season FUN and NOT stressful!!! With the next three posts I have one goal: For us ALL to feel absolutely fabulous when we walk into our various cocktail parties and holiday festivities.
To me, there is no easier way to amp up a holiday cocktail dress than to pair it with black opaque tights and a black pump. It’s unexpected and so chic. Pair it with a black clutch and the look is complete! Not to mention, it keeps your legs warm!
Don’t forget to be resourceful! The “bracelet” I have on is actually a necklace that I wrapped around my wrist a couple of times. I needed something that added a little bling and all I had was a necklace! I also love to wear dark nail polish to “edge” up my look a little, like OPI “Lincoln Park After Dark“.
There is no easier “hair-do” for me than a bun. If your hair is long enough for a bun, you can check out my poofy bun tutorial here.

I specifically love the way bright dresses look with black hose and black pumps. It’s so festive and holiday, because you wouldn’t really wear the hose and pumps in the summer, you know? I’ve picked out a few of my favorite bright dresses for you, below.

I love this look, but what do you suggest as far as tights/shoes for a black dress?

I love this look and do the same thing in the winter. I’m not big on short dresses, but I am willing to wear them if I have black tights on underneath.
