Inspired: Functionality

I’m back! I’ve been on vacation in Cape Cod, or as the locals call it “The Cape”. I’m excited to share my outfits with you. Since I’m starting mid week, I’ll be posting through the rest of the week. So, be sure to check back.

I am often inspired by functionality based on the day’s activities (traveling, sight seeing, dinner party, shopping). I think that’s why I love packing for trips so much, because it gets my creative juices flowing! Is that weird? -ha!

The day before I left for the trip, I purchased this tee from J. Crew that I LOVE, so of course I had to wear it! Besides, what’s better than jeans and a tee to travel in?! Well, if the jeans have stretch like these do, that is -ha! I added the blazer as an extra layer, because I knew I was going to get cold on the plane, and I did! The blazer was also a way to dress up my outfit a bit for the evening. I also brought these wedges to help transition my outfit from day to night.

But the evening ended up being perfectly casual, with us making pizzas at home. So I took the blazer off, kept the flat sandals on and sloppy tucked the front of my tee. A perfect first day to our trip, and a perfect way to celebrate my husband’s birthday!

Since I just got a new camera, I’m trying really hard to be good at photography. Although I will keep trying, I’m thinking I don’t have “the talent”. I’m pretty determined, so maybe you’ll see an improvement as the posts go on, or maybe not -ha! This is my attempt at capturing the beauty of Cape Cod.
