I’m sure it comes as no surprise that I had a very strategic plan for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (a sale on fall’s best brands and trends. The prices go back up after the sale). I had to do this, because sometimes I find that I loose my mind and buy things just because they’re on SALE! (all caps with an exclamation point because that’s how I see it in my brain -ha!).
My strategic plan was to only look at versatile staples for the coming season. I went from “tent” to “tent” (that’s what I call the curtained off area-ha!), and tried them on for you guys. Sometimes you have to touch, feel and try things on, you know? Well, I know not all of you have the time or desire to do this, so I shopped for you (well, and for me -ha!).

Alright, so let’s start offwith agoodpair of Black Heels:
I love these black heels! I love that they have the hip cagey look in the back but that the toe box is classic. They are hip but still classy! They would look cute with jeans, you could wear them with work pants, and they would, of course, look darling with a skirt!
It’s too bad these pictures didn’t turn out better, because these boots are way cooler than the pictures let on. They have this mesh part on the back that snuggly fits your leg, and they are so comfortable, like you’re walking on clouds. And they are so darn stylish to boot! If you have a problem with boots being too large on your leg, these are the boots for you.
The second I saw these boots I loved them. They are the perfect cognac color, and I love the contrasting sole and the buckle detail. My friend has great calves and has a hard time finding boots that fit. These fit her perfectly. If you find yourself in her same boat, these boots are for you.
Last Anniversary Sale I purchased a pair of black bootie sandals and wore them like crazy. So, when I saw these taupe Via Spiga sandal booties, I knew they were perfect! I loved the neutral color, since I already own a black pair. I love that they’re a wedge, which makes them a little easier to walk in. I love that they can be whatever I want them to be for my outfit- a sandal, a bootie, a wedge. Yup, I’d say that’s pretty versatile.
If you’ve followed the blog for awhile, then you know how much I wear my black skinnies during the fall and winter. I wear them almost everyday. I can’t help myself, they’re so versatile! You can wear them both dressy and casually. Oh, how I love black skinnies!
How cute are these?!?! Oh, and now I want to buy the black heel (above) and wear it with the pants! The Nordstrom picture is a better indication of color. I tried them on and loved them. My green pants might have some major competition -ha!
I’m telling you, these pictures do not do this bag justice! It’s so darling. We both purchased it. I bought it in black and Kim bought it in olive fatigue. I love that it’s nondescript, and I love the feel of the soft leather. But most of all, I love that you can wear it as a cross body, as a long shoulder bag, or you can double the strap and wear it as a short shoulder bag. Plus, it’s big enough to hold all my stuff! The holes on the straps allow for you to adjust it to where you would like it to hit you. Not to mention that the sale price is $120 off the original price!
I found this tote in the Juniors department! I think it’s so cute and such a good price ($35.90). It’s not real leather, but it sure did feel and look like it. You could fit a lot of stuff in there!
I’m totally into fringe these days! But I like this one because with the gold chain and zipper, it feels like a classy take on fringe. Shall we call it “refined fringe”? I also love that you can remove the chain and wear it as a clutch.
I wear my black puffer all the time in the fall/winter (here, here), and I love this one because of the quilting detail at the top!
These necklaces never go on sale. I love this necklace because it’s not too fussy, and it’s the perfect way to put that finishing touch on your outfit.
WARNING NOT A STAPLE, JUST A SPLURGE!
I just couldn’t help myself. I love, love, love my slide onsthat I’m wearing for the summer, and I thought it would be nice to have some for the winter! These are UGG and they have a little patch of wool inside to keep your feet warm. Oh, I’m so excited about these!
That’s my round up. I think my cousin put it best, “It’s awesome, because you get to buy things on sale and then ten days later they are full price!”. Yup. Nordstom, you’ve got me.

Sooo…if you HAD to pick one color of the Uggs, which would it be? Also, can ask what size puffer you got? Thanks!!

Hi Nicole, That is so hard to say! I purchased the tan color but navy seems to be the “it” color for the fall. Now, I want the navy:) In the picture I’m wearing an xs in the vest. I hope this helps.

We loved your fall inspiration! We must admit that we have some trepidation after a long, Canadian winter. Your choice of riding boots and bags offer a little hope that we may enjoy autumn. If only we had a Nordstom!

Is the coach purse in British similar to the cognac color of your melissa button frye boots? It looks like it in the photo, but was wondering if you saw it in a store? Love your inspirations!
