I love the capes that are currently being featured for the fall/winter. I found a beautiful one at a boutique in Dallas, but I passed because I didn’t want to pay the high price. Well, low and behold, Anthropologie had one that looked exactly the same for a tenth of the price, yay!!! But, how does one wear a cape?!?
My sister, aunt and cousins were shopping with me when I found the Anthropologie cape and we were ALL trying to figure out how to make it work. When I tried it on, I looked like I was being swallowed up by a blanket. Then my sister started bringing me belts. At first, I tried it on with the belt going around the whole thing, which wasn’t very comfortable. Then, I tried it in with the belt going around the front and leaving out the back, ding ding ding! It was the perfect solution and I really loved the way it turned out.
I wore this outfit to our ten year anniversary dinner. I had my husband snap a few pics (ok, probably more than just a few -ha!) in our little cottage before heading out the door. That’s why it looks like I’m in a hotel room… because I am. -ha! Oh well, I really wanted to show you guys this belt trick so you’ll have to look past the hotel scenery.

Here is the cape in action at The Stonehouse, where we had dinner for our ten year. The cape kept me perfectly warm and since it was belted, I didn’t have to keep adjusting it.
Just in case you go to this restaurant, you have to order their mint chocolate chip ice cream. It’s the best I’ve ever had- it was made from real, fresh mint!
