I felt like this outfit had a very “street style” vibe to it, so it was only fitting to have my head down, working on my phone on the side of a street -bahahahaha! Truthfully, what really inspired this outfit was the design elements of a classic men’s tuxedo. Let’s consider this post a tribute to the men’s tuxedo -ha!
I’ve probably had this J. Crew tuxedo shirt for over 10 years, and I consider it a staple in my closet. While all of my other dress shirts have gone out of style, this one has stayed. And the reason is the classic influence of the men’s tuxedo. Every season J. Crew has some rendition of the tuxedo shirt, and this season is no exception. I particularly love this one, and this one seems like it would be a nice option for warmer weather.
The leather(ish) stripe down my new black jeans is such a fun interpretation of the classic tuxedo stripe. I love to see how a classic design gets interpreted. I’ve started to notice tuxedo elements everywhere! I bet you will, too, and you should let it inspire you!
