Do you guys love blue and white as much as I do? I think if I could, I would have a blue and white kitchen, bathroom, bedroom… well, an entire blue and white house. So when I ran across this indigo tie-dye tee from J.Crew, I had to have it. I knew when I purchased it I would need to put my thinking/styling cap on to figure out how to take this tee up a notch. After all, this outfit is just jeans and a tee, but with a bit of styling, this casual outfit becomes a lot more interesting.
The first bit of styling was adding a sloppy tuck. Imagine this outfit with the shirt hanging down in the front. Not as exciting, right? If you think you can’t do a sloppy tuck because of your mid section, try it. A sloppy tuck (as oppose to being fitted) actually disguises mid section issues, while defining the waist line. Just try it, and then compare it to no tuck. I promise you’ll like it.
Next I chose brown leather as my accent color, which I incorporated through my shoes and bag. I could have gone with a metallic to match my jewelry, but I liked the contrast of the brown. It’s a nice juxtaposition, and I like that it’s not too “matchy-matchy”.
I kept the jewelry simple and casual like my outfit. To me, jewelry adds a finishing touch to any outfit (even if you aren’t wearing a lot), but that’s just my p.o. -ha!
That’s it guys! I hope you took away a few tips to bring your jeans and tee outfits up a notch!

I am usually a small in JCrew (size 4, small bust) but often go up a size for a looser – and longer (I’m 5’8″)- love how this shirt looks on you. Did you get your regular size or size up or down? THanks so much! LOVE ideas for jeans and tees as that’s almost all I wear! xx
