Guess what? I spent half a day (maybe a little longer (ha!)) in the bathing suit department at Nordstrom getting the scoop (from Brittany E.) on bathing suits, and I can’t wait to share what I learned with you guys! I tried the suits on so I could give you guys a first hand review! Now you don’t have to go try on bathing suits this season! I did it for you! One huge thing I learned on this shopping trip is that FIT is paramount. It doesn’t matter if it’s a really cute pattern, if it doesn’t fit and flatter, it doesn’t matter. That’s why, in this post, I concentrate on fit and the info Brittany shared with me. So if you’ve been dragging your heels on going swim suit shopping, you’re in luck. Just order them to your house and ship back the ones that don’t work! Plus, I’m saving you from dressing room lighting -ahhhhhhhhhh, run!
First up, the sure bet:
According to Brittany, this swimsuit has been a big seller, because it fits so well on so many customers. I tried it on in blue and sure enough, it fit very well! The rouching was perfectly placed, and the top fit very well, too. The pink was already sold out in the store!
Now, this was such a huge find for me, and I will forever be grateful to Brittany for introducing me to the brand Blush by Profile. They make SWIMSUITS FOR LARGE CHESTED WOMEN! I haven’t been able to wear a two piece swimsuit that I felt comfortable in for years!!! There was always just too much cleavage for my liking, but this one is the perfect solution. And I love that you can tie the back for a perfect fit around your ribcage! I’m telling you, if you are large chested, check out this line. You will not be disappointed! I purchased a small E.
This is the other large chested bikini that Brittany recommended, and she was right on. I had to go up to an 8 on top but since it’s a tie closure, it was no problem. She also mentioned that the Vix triangle bikini was a great fit for large chests.
In my humble opinion, a plunging neckline looks amazing on women with a small chest. It really makes that area look tastefully sexy. They’re also great for someone who as a thicker bottom half- the deep v elongates and takes the attention away from the bottom. Brittany said that these are the two best fitting plunging neckline one pieces in her department. I like how the black one has the long v look, but the middle strap provides extra coverage. The nice thing about the black and cream one is that the material has a nice give, so it doesn’t cut into your bottom and helps avoid the double butt (I bought this one in the bandeau version).
If you are a pretty easy fit, I tried these swimsuits on and I loved them!
How cool is the back on this one piece?!?! Plus, it’s only $68!!!
I love this two piece. I bought it and I’m hoping that by sizing up (I ordered an 8), my boobs will fit appropriately. Cross your fingers for me!
Ok, and then there is this swim shirt. It shimmers like a cool surfer girl, and it’s super light weight material instead of the usual heavy swimsuit material. Will I look like a surfer? Ha! I can wish, but I know it will look cute with all of the swimsuits I purchased!
One last thing, if you go to a store be sure to ask the sales associate for help! They know their department best!
Stay tuned for my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale picks! I’ll be sharing them throughout next week.
