And just like that, cold weather is here and we are digging our winter clothes out from the back of our closets. Can you all believe that Thanksgiving is next week?!?!? I often receive requests from my clients and friends to help their husbands or to start a menswear blog. Well, menswear isn’t really my gig, so they must be asking me based on the way my husband dresses! Yup, my very picky, very selective, very stylish husband also loves clothes. I still think he has more clothes than me! In fact, many of you have told me how happy your husbands have been with what we (mostly my husband) recommended in the past (here and here). So, when Nordstrom asked me (us) to check out their men’s sweaters, we gladly agreed. I thought you all might enjoy some sweater recommendations for the men in your life to wear to Thanksgiving or to get them as Christmas presents!
We recently took a trip to California, where it was much chillier than Houston, and my husband was in desperate need of some sweaters that fit well. A lot of his sweaters have lost their shape since last season, so we went searching for new ones. We were looking for sweaters that were not too bulky on the top and sides, because this can look boxy and add unwanted weight to the midsection. I like that this sweater is slimmer in the middle but doesn’t hug. I also like that it’s a lighter weight, which makes it more slimming and keeps you cooler (you know guys like that!). My husband really likes the extra detail of the suede patches on the shoulders.
I also like the fabric detail inside the zipper and the leather zipper pull (as opposed to a metal one).

This sweater is a thicker knit and warmer, but it’s not too bulky up top or in the middle.
I really like the color, because it can be worn with all the standard men’s bottoms- blue jeans, khakis, navy, brown and black slacks. It’s a great versatile color!
I personally really like the collar and buttons on this sweater. It makes it feel modern without loosing any manly-ness. He also purchased this sweater, but we didn’t get a chance to take a picture of him in it.

So, just in case the man in your life has nothing but tired sweaters in his closet and has nothing to wear to Thanksgiving, here are a few ideas! Or you can get an early start on your Christmas shopping for the men in your life! Up next, Thanksgiving outfit inspiration for you!
Now, to my husbands friends: I know you guys are going to raz him like crazy for being my model, but don’t lie, you’ve probably benefited in some way from his astute sense of style and keen eye for a good find at some point in your life! 😉

Another home run in men’s wear from your blog! {Had to go with a sports term!} I’ve actually bought several pieces you/he have featured before. And I love all these looks and have added them to the shopping list for my hubby and two grown sons. Cool details. Your husband looks great and is wonderful to help us all out!! {Please tell him thanks from grateful readers!}
