I have lots of friends that are pregnant right now and a few readers have requested a maternity post. Even if you’re not pregnant, perhaps you’re in the transition period. I remember when I was pregnant, I felt better when I could buy regular clothes instead of maternity clothes, because there was a chance I could use the clothes again. And, well, I didn’t feel like I was wearing maternity clothes- not that there is anything wrong with maternity clothes- ha!
This sundress from Anthropologie is TDF! I would live in this dress if I werepregnant. I would wear it around thehouse, I would wear it to eat Mexican food, I would wear it to church, I wouldwear it to go shopping, I would wear it to sleep- no just kidding, too hot!
I don’t remember owning any cute maternity PJ’s or nightgowns. Do they make them?!?! Well, they may, but they are probably pretty pricey. Here’s your solution, a nightgown that will make you look so cute barefoot and pregnant and you can totally wear this when you aren’t pregnant. Plus the black one could double as a swimsuit cover-up. If only I’d had this on my baby-moon to Mexico, I would have looked so much cuter-ha!
I saw these tops (in store, similar here) at Old Navy and they are perfect to allow growth. I like that they have the elastic band at the bottom, so you are guaranteed that you won’t have that underbelly peek-a-boo that sometimes happens. Put this with white shorts, jeans or pants, throw on a necklace and you’ve got yourself a really cute work or casual outfit!
This is a terrible picture of this tunic, but I just wanted you all to see that I’ve tried it on. That orange belt does not come with the tunic, I was just trying to see what it would look like belted. Here’s how I see this tunic working for maternity- it could be your go to dressy outfit. At the beginning stages you can wear it as a dress with flats (depending on your height). If you were invited to a fun dinner you could wear it with white jeans and wedges. And, if you needed to go to a cocktail event, you could wear this tunic with black skinny pants, black heels, throw some glitzy jewelry on and you would look amazing. And, when you’re not pregnant, you can belt it and wear it some more!
So, I saw this backpack at Nordstrom and I immediately thought it would make the perfect diaper bag. I remember I spent hours searching for the perfect diaper bag, and I only wish this one were available when I was pregnant. If I needed one now, this would be it. It’s so stylish and durable (it’s nylon). Plus, you can have both hands free and, well, you need all the hands you can get.
I’m not sure you can wear this your entire pregnancy, but certainly during the first part and during the after baby transition period!
I’ve posted these items before on the blog and my pregnant friends are wearing them! Maternity NOT Maternity!

I know this is the trend now, but I don’t understand – doesn’t the big belly bump up the front of the shirt/dress and make it look odd? That’s why I wore maternity clothes. Borrowed most of them from a stylish friend and loaned them out to another friend. I made do with very few things and fabulous accessories.

and, I meant to say, I have NO IDEA what I wore to bed in that period, but it can’t have been as cute as those nighties you snapped! And I remember some terrible night time nursing clothes after that. . . glad that’s over, I must say.
