Swimsuit season is daunting! Not only because we have to be in swimsuits, but because we have to shop for swimsuits. You’d think, by now, they would use lights that flatter us instead of show every imperfection. That’s why I’m loving these websites that allow free shipping and returns, because I don’t have to step foot in a dressing room. I find that, when we are trying on clothes, we are usually trying to find something that works with our “issue” area. This may be a mid-section, heavy bottom section, small/large chest, etc. For this reason, I decided to do a post based on issue and not body type. Just in case you’re wondering about my issue, I have a boob issue. I’ve had it all my life- I was born with a birth defect, but more on that later. All of that to say, we ALL have our own issues and, for the most part, we make them out to be way worse than they actually are. We all need to give ourselves a break! But that’s just my two cents- ha!
Heavy Bottom Section “Issue”:
Multicolor One-Piece,Skirt,Blue One-Piece,Black One-PieceI love an elongated neckline for this particular “issue” and suits that accentuate the waist. I think skirts are a great option and I also find that suits that come down a little on the sides have a very flattering effect as well. Think Marilyn Monroe and how awesome she looked in all of those pictures we’ve seen of her in a swimsuit.
Midsection “Issue”:
One Shoulder One-Piece,Blue One-Piece,Strapless One-Piece,Black One-Piece
If you have had a kiddo or two, than you are no stranger to this “issue”. I love the grecian draping of these suits- they look sexy and are still so flattering. The ruching on the sides is always very forgiving on the midsection and I love that these suits have a little something extra. The navy has a pretty lace inset and I love the key hole on the black one-piece.
Small Chest “Issue”:
Blue and Yellow Bikini,Blue One-Piece,Stripe Bikini, Floral One-PieceThink about Cameron Diaz. I love how she owns her smaller chest and she always looks so effortless and sporty chic in her swim suits. I think it’s great to wear tops that are tight and accentuate the smaller bust, without the use of padding or an underwire. I’m loving the sporty feel of the blue and the surprise detail of the back.
Large Chests “Issue” :
Red One-Piece,Stripe Bikini,Floral One-Piece
I love the bandeau one-piece for large chests, because they’re flattering and you don’t have to worry about the bottom part of your breast showing under. For the most part, the boning on bandeau one-pieces are very strong and they usually have a tie around the neck for extra support. I also like the bikini’s J. Crew carries because they have large cup sizes, and I think they do a good job of not making it look like you’re just wearing an extra supportive bra- ha!
If I Had a Million Dollars:
Rash Guard, Black One-PieceIf I had a million dollars and I traveled somewhere that I needed a wet suit, I’d be all over this one. To me it looks like a piece of art. Now, I love this black suit. It looks much better up close on the zoom feature and I know it would NEVER go out of style. It’s just so classic and classy but with a little bit of edge.

Hey friend! Love your “issues” post. Now which suit is best for me who has too many “issues” to mention! HA! Maybe sweat pants! but really, I had someone say the other day that gals need to invest in some great coverups for the summer since a majority of the time, you might be in a coverup and not necessarily just your swimsuit. Any thoughts about great coverups? Hope to see your sweet face soon. xoxo-Court
