I recently visited a new boutique in Houston, Julie Rhodes Fashion & Home, to interview Lisa Salzer, the founder/creator of Lulu Frost. Ahhhhhhhhh! I was truly, so honored by this opportunity. And it’s all thanks to you! Without your readership, I wouldn’t get opportunities like this.

Upon entering Julie Rhodes Fashion and Home, I was greeted by a very warm and pretty (seriously, she looks like Cameron Diaz) Julie Rhodes. And, here’s the thing, she did this with every guest that walked through the door! You have to love shopping at a place that makes you feel welcomed. Then we started chatting, and within the first 5 minutes we found that we had so much in common…
Left to Right (Erica Smith (my sister), Julie Rhodes, Lisa Selzer, Carly Lee)
She reads “People StyleWatch” (my not so secret weapon, post here), she carries a clutch in her big purse (post here) and, just like how we all want to feel, she wants her customers to feel like they’ve still “got it”! Now, with this kind of down to earth personality and mindset, you know the products she selects for her store are going to be GREAT! Check out her website to see a list of all the brands she carries (here). Here are just a few of my favorite brands found in her store…
Remember “the most comfortable flats in the world” I posted about?!?! Well, she carries BLOCH flats in the store! Go try them on!
And she carries Gigi New York! Remember this Gigi iPhone case I fell in love with at a recent luncheon (post here)? Well, she carries an assortment of great products from their line!
And last, but certainly not least, the beautiful, unique and stunning jewelry by Lisa Salzer of Lulu Frost. Some of you may already be familiar with some of her pieces through her collaboration with J. Crew. I can’t wait to share with my interview with her tomorrow! I loved hearing her take on mixing metals, what one piece of jewelry we should invest in,what her grandmother would tell her and what her work environment is like… stay posted -ha! But, for now, I leave you with pictures of her jewelry from her trunk show at Julie Rhodes, which will certainly make you want to know and see more -ha!
The Plaza Collection(found in Houston at Julie Rhodes) features bronze cast numbers and letters from New York’s Iconic Plaza Hotel. A little piece of history around your neck.
This necklace is from her 100 year collection. Each piece is one of a kind and made of vintage parts, dating back 100 years (ie. from 1860-1960). How cool is that?! A unique necklace no one else will have, that is filled with history!
This cuff is definitely my favorite.
Oh wait, no, maybe these earrings are my favorite -ha! Check out all her earrings (here). I’ll tell you which earrings I’m asking my husband to get me for Christmas, tomorrow. To view her jewelry in person and to see a ton of great clothes all in one place, be sure to stop by Julie Rhodes. It’s located in the heart of West University, on 6209 Edloe Street.
