I recently went on a girls trip to Oxford, MS (my bestie went to Ole Miss and has introduced me to this amazing little town). It was my third time to visit, and I came back with a renewed sense of creativity and the motivation to get the house organized. Weird, I know, but true. Maybe it was the break from the everyday grind that gave my mind space to get inspired. Anyway, I had my girls take pictures of me along the way, so a big thanks to them for being patient and allowing me to interrupt our trip for photos. You’ll have to forgive the picture quality- they are iPhone pictures, because I didn’t bring my big camera.

I am so particular about travel outfits, and this one was perfect! I was able to slide my shoes on and off with ease, my toes were covered so they didn’t freeze, and they’re comfy, too! The shirt covered well, so when I had to bend down at the security line, everything was covered. All that to say, I’m buying this top in another color, because I love it so much. I knew I would (original post). I’d also buy these shoes in another color, but I already have them -ha!

Plus, the outfit transitioned perfectly from day to night! I just changed the shoes and bag. We ate dinner at City Grocery. It’s a local favorite.

The next morning, we went to breakfast at Bottletree Bakery (delicious, I highly recommend). We split a big as your face cinnamon roll. It was so good, it was a highlight of my trip! We ended up shopping on the square right after breakfast. Gotta love a girls weekend with no agenda! Thankfully what I wore to breakfast transitioned nicely for an afternoon for shopping. When there is no agenda, it’s hard to know if your outfits will work. I got lucky with this outfit, so I’ll start packing something similar for every trip.

My favorite shops were Amelia (home stationery) and Nella (clothing). The owner of Nella, Jeff, follows C. Style and introduced himself. He couldn’t have been nicer (gotta love the south), and his store was so great! My girls and I went a little crazy in there. Well, I went crazy in there- ha!

That night, I, of course, had to wear my new outfit from Nella! I couldn’t wait! I wore my flat sandals that I brought, and they were perfect because we walked to Jinsei (an amazing sushi restaurant).

And to end the trip, on Sunday we had brunch at Ravine and went to Graceland in Memphis. I’ll have to say, this outfit wasn’t the best for the airport. The shoes were too hard to take on and off, but it was perfect for brunch and Graceland.
Now, go schedule a girls trip!

What a coincidence! My sister, brother and I were in Oxford this past weekend. My brother went to Ole Miss so it was nice that he got a chance to see all the changes and a few of things that haven’t changed. The campus is beautiful as is the town. We went to Rowden Oaks (Faulkner’s home) and found that both interesting and beautiful. We thought we would do some shopping on the square but all the retail stores were closed on Sunday. I had to remember we weren’t in Houston and time stands still in Oxford on Sundays. Which is nice! Dinner at City Grocery on the square and the next night at Taylor Grocery Store. I put on the “Oxford 5” to it’s time to diet.
My friend, Amy Hammer, told me about your blog. I have been following you for the past two years to get my fashion inspiration. Thanks for the journey!

Thank you so much for mentioning Amelia. I’m sorry I didn’t get to meet you, as I was in NYC. I hope you were well taken care of in the shop and please stop back in next time you are in town. All the best, Erin, owner of Amelia
