My friend, who doesn’t really wear a lot of makeup (she doesn’t need to/doesn’t care a lot about makeup), came over recently while our boys played. I tried to concentrate on what she was saying, but I was so distracted by her long, dark eyelashes. I’ve known her for 15 years, so I know her very well and know what her eyelashes look like. Did she get lash extensions? So, after pretending to listen to what she was saying and nodding my head while actually just analyzing her eyelashes, I finally blurted out, “Did you get lash extensions?!” I know, I’m such a good listener. She said, “No, I’ve been using Rodan + Fields Lash Boost.” All I could think was, “OMG, I need to get me some Rodan + Fields lash boost pronto!”
Now, you have to know something about me. Ever since I can remember, I’ve been obsessed with my eyelashes. I know, I’m so deep. In high school, I used to curl my eyelashes religiously. It was almost like I couldn’t be seen without my eyelashes curled. College was the same. I may have even curled my eyelashes while driving. Eeeeek. S-T-U-P-I-D! After kids, ain’t nobody got time for eyelash curlin’ (I usually save it for date-night). Well, obsessions die hard, which is why I immediately texted my friend, Kelsey, a Rodan + Fields Consultant, and ordered some.
Review:
Ok, so finally for MY REVIEW -ha! What did I think? Well, it freaking works, like crazy works (results in picture above). My sister told me if I kept using it, I was going to have to start trimming my eyelashes. She was right. They were starting to come close to hitting my eyebrows. And when I look up, I can actually feel them hit my eyebrows. Ha! So, I got her point and took a break.
But I needed a bit of a break anyway. You know at the end of the day when you’ve had your mascara on all day and all you want to do is rub your eyes? That’s how I felt in the morning after having Lash Boost on all night. It didn’t bother me at night, so I usually just splashed water on my eyes in the morning. I did notice my eyes were a little more red than usual (probably from rubbing them). Now that I’ve stopped using it (so I don’t have to trim my eyelashes), the itchiness and redness have gone away. In the end, minor itchiness and redness didn’t stop me from using it because of the amazing results I saw. I used it for about 2 and half months, and I’ll probably go back to it for maintenance -ha! I can’t help myself. Like I said, it’s an obsession!
You know it works when you see other friends whose eyelashes are suddenly thick, long and dark and they confirm they’re using Lash Boost, too! And then it happened to me. My friend asked if I got eyelash extension, and my very deep self about did a cartwheel with joy when she asked. Ha! She later told me she went home and ordered Lash Boost!
If you don’t have a Rodan + Fields Consultant, purchase under Kelsey. She is the sweetest person ever! She used to work for C. Style, so I know her well!

I’m so sad because I just had to return mine. My eyes got so red and irritated and my vision was blurry. I think I’m the only person who didn’t have a good experience 😢 I’m guessing bc I have sensitive eyes/skin?
Carly Lee says
Yikes, Kelly! This is no good!

I had the same experience. Itchy, burny, dry, blurry, and it gave me a headache every day all day while i was using it that made me make mistakes at work! Had to return it.
Carly Lee says
Oh no! Thanks for sharing!

Girl, I’ve used it for two nights. Both days afterwards I’ve experienced headaches, blurry vision, and really dry red eyes.. I can’t use the product either.. I had to leave work due to not being able to see straight…
Carly Lee says
YIKES!

I also has red and irritated eyes. A bit crusty in the mornings when I woke. Some one told me to back off a bit by alternating which eye I put It on so every other night one eye did not get treatment. I used an allergy eye drops in my eyes a few days then I have not had the problem anymore. Also I was putting it on to thick. I was anxious to get results and boy did it. They look fabulous and at the rate I’m using the booster it will last longer!

You are so kind Carly! Thank you for mentioning me 🙂

Your lashes look beautiful! I’ve been using it about 6 weeks and don’t have a lot to show for it yet. How long did it take for you to have noticeable results?
Carly Lee says
I started to see results around 8 weeks. I hope this helps!

I’ve wanted to try this, but I’m trying more and more to only use natural products – especially near my eyes. I did have great luck using organic, cold pressed castor oil. Probably not quite as good as your gorgeous lashes, but at least it was an improvement! 🙂 Always love your beauty tips!
Carly Lee says
Where did you buy the cold pressed castor oil? Whole Foods?
kristen says
yes, whole foods! It is also doing wonders for my thin, blonde eyebrows. 😉 I’m sure there are a bazillion articles about it, but if it’s helpful, right before I go to sleep I just dip a q-tip in the oil and rub on the base of the lashes and over my eye brows. If you try it you’ll have to let us know how it compares to Lash Boost.
Carly Lee says
Thank you, and will do!

I totally relate to the lash curling addiction, and yeah, now that I’m a mom, there’s hardly time for that (unless its a go-glam day or night). I have (or rather, had) naturally long lashes, but they were blonde. I’d read that Lash Boost helped grow darker lashes, so I ordered some.
I used lash boost for a few months every other day or so, but stopped because my lashes were getting too long, just like your account. Well, now a few months after stopping, my lashes appear to have just broken off. Not at the base…they aren’t falling out, they broke and are now stubby and awful looking.
I’m freaking out and regret ever having used this product. I had wonderful lashes before. I never should have messed with them. My R&F rep never mentioned that I had to continue usage or my lashes would be ruined. When I told her I was stopping b/c my lashes were too long, she advised to maintain because my lashes would revert. Well, they didn’t revert to my old length, they are MUCH shorter .
I would advise people not buy this product. Maybe if you never had lashes to begin with the side effects are worth it, but for someone who is just trying to enhance their already nice lashes? STAY AWAY.

Thanks for your comment, Michelle.

I had the same issue – had decent lashes (pretty much the only thing I ever put effort into with mascara/makeup) but thought I needed “more” since they seemed to thin since having children (thanks pregnancy hormones). So, started using Lash Boost, loved it because my lashes got longer and darker, and everyone commented on them. Stopped using it because I was happy with the length, but still did “maintenance” every couple days, and then within a couple weeks, I had bald spots along my lash line and my lashes are now thinner and shorter and I still have bald spots a couple months later. Completely regret ever using it and am hoping against hope that one day my lashes will be back to normal again. I also tried every single R&F skin care line and every one made my face red and irritated – obviously I should have taken this as a sign and not used the Lash Boost either. =(

Thanks for letting us know!

Same with me-blurry vision, (I went back to eye doctor multiple times and was convinced something awful was wrong), a mind crusty eyes in morning. Eyelashes are awesome but I need to be able to see. :). Going to try castor oil.
