I couldn’t figure out what to call this post, hence the “slash title.” It’s a throw back to old blogging days when everything was spur of the moment and not curated. It was just me sharing my life with you guys and you all sharing your lives with me in return. I miss it. So how does one put that into a catchy title? Ha!
I did it! I cut my hair! Thanks for all the encouragement. I’m not sure it’s a “lob”, but it’s much shorter and so light! I feel like I’m out of my hair rut! A special thanks to Robert Moore for always making me feel so comfortable in the chair for the last 13 years!
I shared this on my Instastories. This really hit home for me this week, and I’ve been trying to live this out. I am a forcer and a pusher. I bulldoze to get the things done I think I need to but end up frustrated and exhausted. This week, I just let things be. I prayed for time to get the things done I needed to and for guidance of what those things should be. It was a way more balanced week, and I was more relaxed. Imagine that! A reader called these words “liberating.” I couldn’t agree more. This is an excerpt from Purpose Drive Life. I read it years ago, and I just picked it up again. I’m loving it!
And then my friend (Kate Stukenberg) recommended the Goop Podcast with Gwyneth and Oprah after seeing my post. It was so stinkin’ good. If you have anytime in the car, you’ve got to listen.
Extra-Large, Large, Medium and Small Ginger Jar
My dining room is still a work in progress, but these blue and white ginger jars were too pretty not to share with you NOW!
Boys’ Outfit Links: Jacket- Dillards, Slacks- Dillards, Solid Shirt- Dillards, Stripe Shirt- Dillards, Shoes- Dillards, Bow Tie- Here, here and here for similar
I repeat my outfits like crazy, and this is proof. Remember this cream dress (here and here)? I like to keep items and wear them to different events that include different circles of people. I think I might have to finally retire this dress. My circles are exhausted. But this is a great case for cost per wear! This dress was a stretch for me, but I loved it and was able to wear it a ton. Btw, if you are looking for nice Easter clothes for little boys, I’m loving Dillard’s! Their entire outfit (minus the belt) is from Dillard’s.
I can’t wait to show you all the before and after pictures of this project! Catherine Linn of The Organizing Organization helped me organize my sons’ rooms. They had toys and clutter everywhere…like everywhere. Don’t believe me? Check out my “Get’n Organized” Stories on Instagram.
Last but not least, A GIVEAWAY!
I’m headed to Round Top, TX with my family (aunt, cousins, sister) for a girls’ weekend! I couldn’t be more excited to give them the sussy I bought for them over a month ago from my friend, Lucky Peacock Designs! And guess what?! Lucky Peacock Designs and I are teaming up for an Instagram giveaway! She’s giving away 5 pairs of her colorful, lightweight statement earrings! Click here to enter.
Have a great weekend!

What a fun post! I’ve been reading your blog since about 2011 and this was a lot like the “old days” 😉 I broke up with instagram, which has been my liberating thing for the week. Sadly this means I can’t enter your giveaway!
btw, have you ever purchased a saint james meridien shirt? i’m not talking about the jcrew versions, but directly from saint james? i want one of their traditional striped shirts, the ones that are oversized and kind of sweatshirt-y. They are pricey so I don’t want to mess it up! Ha! Anyway, wondered if you had any experience with them. Here is what I’m looking at: https://www.saint-james.com/us/meridien-moderne-unisex-breton-stripe-shirt-5105.html

Hey Kristen, I have purchased Saint James shirt directly from one of their retailers (not J. Crew), and I love it! I’ve never thought about whether there is a difference between Saint James shirts at J. Crew. Something for me to research! Thank you! I have this one in Ecru/Marine ->http://bit.ly/2IVC3Wq. I have it in a US 4. I usually wear an xs but it says on the tag that its an xxs.

Hi Carly! First- I love your hair! LOVE! Next, I really liked what you underlined on that page about doing what we are supposed to be doing, with the grace that God allotted for just that day. It is such good sense. I have to pull out my copy of that book again, and your post is an excellent reminder. Also, when you can, could you please do a post on what you all wear to Round Top? And can you show us what you pick up there? This last week I looked over your archives from Round Top Wear and activities, and they are some of my favorites. Thank you! Have the best time on your Girls Weekend!!! (Read: Real Spring Break for Adults)
