Round Top was described perfectly by a reader (thanks, Ginni) as “real spring break for adults!” “Round Top,” as most people call it, is an antique fair that lines the one road in and out of the town of Round Top, TX. There are fields upon fields of white tents full of antiques! It’s twice a year, and I go with my family every chance I can! So here’s what I know…

What To Wear:

Whether you go in the fall or the spring, the one thing you can count on is unpredictable weather. So check the weather before you go and plan your outfit accordingly. Also, in my book, comfort is key.

My standard outfit consists of the following:

– A flowy, gauzy, loose fitting top to keep me cool and hide my sweat drips -ha!

– Comfortable bottoms that won’t show sweat lines (ie. if cool- comfy jeans, if hot- denim shorts).

– Comfortable shoes (an absolute must)! I prefer closed toe shoes because you are walking on dirt in fields, but my aunt wears flip flops because her feet get hot.

– A cute cotton dress is a great idea, too! But you might be moving furniture in and out of a truck/car.

Additions to make depending on weather:

– Cool or windy: Bring layers, like a jean jacket, utility jacket or chambray shirt. It’s nice to have, and  you can wear it around your waist.

Raining: Rain boots are a must.

Sunny: Bring a big straw hat.
